We are delighted to announce that Lasse Schmidt Hansen has been awarded the most prestigious three year work grant from the Danish Arts Council. The jury gave as reason for its decision: Lasse Schmidt Hansen's radical artistic practice includes the development of an object-language gained from detailed observation and manipulation of everyday objects and things. The artist also explores the imperfect and random -  things that just happen by mistake and which lend an unintentional and haphazard touch to human trial and error. Things don't always go as planned, and there are many ways to describe the role that chance plays. Lasse Schmidt Hansen's "infinitely inadequate" but poetic works demonstrate that nothing is incidental - not even coincidence.
