Viron Erol Vert lets you get absorbed by golden colors and meditative music in Ambereum. The Ambereum is an immersive and decelerating sound venue that gives the audience space to dream, slow down and relate, in a way that queers social, spiritual and cultural differences.
The total installation Ambereum is inspired by the healing qualities of amber, Greek temples and the idea of merging Pagan culture and Mediterranean mythology in a contemporary nightclub-like amber-orange psychedelic space.
At night, the Ambereum sets the stage for techno, dance, community and intimacy, while you during the day can get a break and purify your body and senses through atmospheric concerts, words, smells and drinks that ground you.
Ambereum is created by Viron Erol Vert and is part of the sense exhibition Sensorium: A Laboratory for the Deceleration of the Body and for a New Politics of the Senses, curated by Solvej Helweg Ovesen and co-produced by Riga Biennale For Contemporary Art, 2018.
Vert was born in Germany in 1975 and lives, thinks and works in Berlin, Istanbul and Athens. He has studied at UDK, Berlin, The Royal Academy, Antwerp and has a MA in fashion design at HTW, Berlin and a MA in textile and experimental surface at KHB, Berlin. In 2018 Viron Erol Vert was the laureate of the Villa Romana prize.
